Inside The Mind

OddGirlie's Bland Little Bio

This is me! I recently changed jobs, from my former love, the newish retail geek chain, Game Crazy, to the not-so-exciting world of retail childrens' furniture, Pier 1 Kids. I ADORED working for Game Crazy, it was hands-down the most enjoyable and educational work experience I've had yet, but the thing is... they were working me to the bone. I had to step down from management and find something that allowed me to spend more time at home with my daughter... so Pier 1 Kids hired me on as their Assistant Manager, and that's where I am now. (I AM making as much money there though, for less work!)

Anywho, to anyone actually wanting to know something about me, I like to think of myself simply as being a nice girlie, but those closest to me would probably tell you that I play a bit of a doormat, as I'll go pretty out of my way to please the people around me. Le sigh. Is that so wrong? Well, I've been doing my fair share of soul-searching lately and have been making some changes in my life that I think reflect a little strength of character... So maybe there's a bit more to me than people think, eh?

Some basic stuff to know, I have a beautiful and sassy little daughter, Adrienne Noelle, and we live in Austin, TX, with my beautiful and incredibly talented boy, Calvin. I am a horrible cook (kitchen? What's a "kitchen?" Is it contagious?) and it doesn't matter anyway, because I'm a total fast-food junkie and chocoholic. No, I'm not grossly overweight, and I'm not a gym-freak, either. I guess I just have good genes? I love sketching and writing lame little stories with no point or ending, LiveJournal and MySpace have become a new obsession for me recently, and I adore thunderstorms and listening to old-time radio mystery shows, like the one and only Suspense series and the great Inner Sanctum. I'm really bad at remembering punchlines to jokes, and especially talented at procrastinating. That's all, folks.
